Laya (the "App") is a dating and matchmaking platform for adults aged 18 and over, operated by BLN Global LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why and how we use it, with whom we may share it, and what rights you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Data We Collect
Depending on how you use Laya, we may process:
- Account data: Name or username, email address and/or phone number (depending on your sign-up method).
- Profile data: Date of birth/age, gender, photos, bio, interests, and preferences.
- Location data: Your approximate (city/region-level) location, when you grant permission.
- Communication data: In-app messages and interactions with other users.
- Payment data: Transaction records when you purchase a Premium membership or Coins (card details are processed directly by the app store/payment provider; Laya does not store your full card number).
- Device and usage data: IP address, device model, operating system, app version, session details, and usage statistics.
2. How We Use Data
We process data only for legitimate purposes:
- To create your account, verify your identity, and keep your session secure;
- To run our matching and recommendation algorithms and show you relevant users;
- To provide messaging and interaction features;
- To deliver paid features such as Premium membership and Coins;
- To detect and prevent fraud, harassment, and abuse;
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- To analyze, improve, and develop new features;
- To comply with our legal obligations.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We may share it only:
- With your consent, where you permit it.
- With service providers — partners who perform hosting, payment processing, analytics, and content moderation on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal compliance, to meet lawful requests from competent public authorities.
- To protect rights and safety of Laya, its users, or third parties.
- In corporate transactions such as a merger, transfer, or acquisition, in which case you will be notified in advance.
4. Profile Visibility
Your profile — including your name/username, age, approximate location, photos, and bio — is visible to other Laya users. For your safety, we strongly advise that you do not share sensitive data such as phone numbers, home/work addresses, financial details, or identity documents on your profile.
5. Data Security
We apply industry-standard measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, and loss:
- SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit,
- Encrypted storage,
- Role-based access controls and authorization,
- Regular security reviews.
No system is 100% secure; if you notice anything suspicious, please report it to destek@laya.dating.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to measure performance and personalize your experience. You can limit these in your device settings, but some features may not work fully.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period (no later than 30 days), subject to any legal retention obligations.
8. Children's Privacy
Laya is strictly for individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If a minor's account is identified, it is closed and the related data deleted. See our Child Safety Policy for details.
9. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party sites or services. Laya is not responsible for their privacy practices; we recommend reviewing their own policies.
10. Location Data
To show you nearby users, we use your approximate (city/region-level) location when permitted. You can turn off the location permission at any time in your device settings.
11. International Data Transfers
Because BLN Global LLC and our service providers may be located in different countries, your data may be processed or stored abroad under safeguards required by applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes, we will notify you via in-app notice or email. We encourage you to review the current version regularly.
13. Your Rights
Under applicable data protection law (including Türkiye's KVKK), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data, object to processing, and request data portability. See the KVKK Clarification Text for details.
